Project Overview

Westforce delivered the earthworks and concrete package supporting Pilbara Minerals’ Concentrator Ore Storage (COS) Dome at Pilgangoora. The COS facility protects high-value spodumene concentrate from environmental contamination, reduces product loss from wind, and manages dust emissions. The COS Dome concrete construction was subsequently awarded as a separate contract, forming a key infrastructure component of the P1000 Expansion. The scope was a critical enabling works package requiring tight coordination across piling, structural, mechanical, and conveyor interfaces within an active mining environment. Westforce was responsible for safely executing complex earthworks, piling activities, and large-scale concrete works to meet program, quality, and safety requirements.

Execution of all earthworks and concrete works associated with the COS Dome foundation system and associated structures.

  • Concrete works
  • Bored piling (varying depths 11m to 22m)
  • Bulk and detailed earthworks
  • Precast installation (L-walls and box culverts)
  • HDPE piping

Concrete: 1,650m3 ~ | Bored Piles: 70 | Bulk Earthworks: 35,000m3 ~ | Imported Fill: 16,000m3 ~ | Trenching: 150m ~| HDPE Piping: 45m ~ | Reinforcement: 258T ~ | Clear and Grub: 210m3 ~
