As part of broader infrastructure upgrades at BHP’s Eastern Ridge operations, Westforce was engaged by Monadelphous to deliver civil works for a new 12km surplus water pipeline. This system is designed to support water transfer across the Ore Body 32 mine area, improving site-wide water management while aligning with environmental compliance objectives.
Located near Newman in the Pilbara, the project is being carried out across rugged terrain and variable ground conditions. Westforce’s role includes land clearing, trenching, structural pads and concrete infrastructure to support pipeline installation and valve assemblies.
The new line is a critical part of maintaining operational efficiency and regulatory compliance across the site. With a 6m deep creek crossing and large diameter DN600–800 pipe to manage, precision excavation and sequencing have been central to maintaining safety and program performance.
Westforce is delivering the full civil scope under a Construct Only contract, providing end-to-end trenching, earthworks and infrastructure works to support mechanical installation of the surplus water system.
Scope highlights:
Works are being delivered in close coordination with Monadelphous and BHP field teams to maintain schedule alignment and safety standards.
