Project Overview

Water Corporation (WA) engaged the Sacyr Westforce Joint Venture (SWJV) to undertake the design, engineering, procurement and construction of an upgrade to the existing Neerabup Groundwater Treatment Plant (GWTP), increasing its capacity from 100ML/day to 150ML/day.

The upgrade included installation of a new water treatment train (No. 2), four new remote extraction bores with associated pipework and buildings, and brownfield modifications to the existing Neerabup Transfer Pump Station and treatment processes within the GWTP.

  • Site establishment, demolition and reinstatement works
  • Bulk and detailed earthworks, including excavations to 6m depth
  • Structural concrete works, including multiple pours exceeding 170m³
  • Structural steelwork installation
  • Piping, valves, fittings and major mechanical piping works
  • Construction of buildings and fit-outs
  • Prefabricated tilt-up structures
  • Backfilling and compaction works

This project exemplifies Westforce’s proficiency in forming successful partnerships with complementary organisations to deliver a design and construction outcome that aligns with the high technical standards set by a government trading entity.
The project was awarded the Infrastructure Project Innovation Award (Metro) Category 2022, by Australian Water Association.
