TransAlta’s existing SCE North power system lacked capacity to support BHP’s planned process plant expansion at NMK and proposed green renewable energy additions. To address this, TransAlta constructed a new 132kV Gas Insulated Switchgear (GIS) substation at NMK, connecting to the existing NLN-NMK 132kV overhead line.
SCEE Electrical, as head contractor, engaged Westforce to complete all soil decontamination and civil construction works for the project.
Westforce delivered civil works across Areas 20 and 30 in
two stages, including:
Concrete: 530m ~ | Contaminated Soil: 285m ~ | Detailed Earthworks: 2000m2 ~ | Trenching: 580m ~ | Reinforcement: 40T ~ | Fencing: 183m | Precast Panels (Fire Wall): 3x6m
