Westforce was selected to deliver the Bulk Earthworks and Concrete Construction package for the BHP Nickel West Mount Keith Debottlenecking (MKD) Expansion Project near Leinster, Western Australia.
The project delivered additional semi-autogenous grinding (SAG) mill capacity at the Mount Keith Mine processing plant to maintain ore throughput and processing capacity. The expansion included new structures and upgrades to existing infrastructure: new stockpile feed and reclaim conveyors, expansion of the crushing and grinding circuit, a coarse ore stockpile, a 16MW SAG mill grinding circuit, and an 11kV substation.
Westforce’s scope of works package included:
Concrete Volume: 6,500m³ ~
Bulk Earthworks: 200,000m³ ~
Detailed Earthworks: 18,000m³ ~
Clearing and Grubbing: 97,000m² ~
HDPE Piping: 5,000m ~
Roads and Pavements: 13,000m² ~
Pedestal and wall structures: 7.2m ~ high
