Project Overview

The BHP Jimblebar Surplus Water dewatering project consisted of the construction of dewatering infrastructure at the Jimblebar Iron Ore Mine in the Pilbara region to remove existing water from an exploration area, enabling BHP to commence mining operations.

Westforce delivered all civil works required for the project, including modifications to the existing WH5/6 storage facility, installation of a new HASHI storage facility, two water transfer pipelines, and three reinjection Managed Aquifer Recharge (MAR) bores.

  • Site clearing, grubbing and topsoil removal
  • Bulk earthworks and access track construction (cut and fill)
  • Trenching for 30km of 600-800mm diameter pipeline
  • Installation of HPDE lining to existing turkeys nest
  • Construction of new HASHI turkeys nest
  • Pipeline installation and commissioning
