Project Overview

As part of the Burrup Seawater Supply Scheme expansion, Westforce was engaged to deliver critical tank and pipeline infrastructure on the Burrup Peninsula in Western Australia.

Owned and operated by the Water Corporation, the scheme supports industrial users by providing access to raw seawater and managing brine and waste discharge through an integrated network and ocean outfall system.

The project includes the replacement of a deteriorating 2.5ML tank with a new 4ML in-situ concrete structure, along with upgrades at the Perdaman and Yara Offtakes.

Three Sisters Tank

  • Demolition and removal of existing steel tank
  • Excavation and removal of tank pad fill to improve foundation
  • Construction of new earth fill pad with foundation preparation
  • Upgrades to site access track
  • Construction of new in-situ concrete tank with roof
  • Removal of temporary tank after commissioning
  • Installation of overflow pipe connecting new tank to brine line
  • Integration of existing inlet and outlet mains with new tank
  • Installation of electrical, instrumentation, control, and SCADA systems (including off-grid solar and battery)

Perdaman Offtake and Yara Offtake

  • Installation of brine return pipe and associated fittings
  • Installation of seawater feed pipe and associated fittings
